RESEARCH : HOT SEATING SCRIPT

Before carrying out our Hot seating for our protagonist we did research to gain further knowledge about how to carry out a successful hot seating. 'Hot seating' is an effective exercise in which an actor is asked specific questions as their character's background, behaviour and motivation. We gained research from an article that inspired us which was written by Charlie Sierra about building a back story of our film characters which was quote from  a book written by Pen Densham, an Academy Award nominated filmmaker. Within the book, there was a section which describes questions that actors should be asked by the directors to gain greater understanding of the characters.
To prepare will write a script for our Hot Seating which allows the visual to be more fluid and prepared. A script however may make the interview more formal and fixed which breaks the image of an natural interview. However, I would prefer a Hot Seating to be realistic and legitimate of the characters characteristics rather than staged.
